Two-step verification is an extra layer of security for your Heaps account to ensure that:
- You are the only person who can sign in to your account
- Once signed in, you are the only person who can perform certain actions such as depositing and withdrawing cash or crypto
When enabled, Heaps will text you a passcode via SMS which must be entered within the application to perform activities on your Heaps account, such as signing in, depositing, withdrawing, or changing account settings. This makes things much harder for potential attackers, as they would not only need your username and password, but would also need possession of your mobile device.
Heaps requires you to set up two-step verification to access key features within the platform. We recommend adjusting your settings to enable two-step verification for every account sign-in.
To enable two-step verification for sign in, head to My account > Overview > Two-step verification and select "Each account sign-in + when Heaps recommends it."
Two-step verification is currently available via SMS, and will soon be available through an authenticator app for enhanced security.
